Like any purchase it is prudent to explore refunds with your travel supplier. Depending on the type of ticket or booking, a number of airlines/hotels/travel operators will provide options for refund, postponement or a credit should you decide to avoid travel due to a formally identified epidemic or pandemic.
Wise Traveller Members - Trip Cancellation
Allianz Global Assistance have informed costs for trips purchased prior to 22 January, if cancelled due to the current travel warnings regarding COVID-2019, may be submitted for assessment as a claim under Trip Cancellation based on the following, subject to normal Policy Wording conditions:
- Tickets were purchased prior to 22 January 2020 (regardless of destination).
- Your subscription was active on or prior to 22 January 2020.
- Refund (or alternative loss minimisation) has been fully explored via the respective operator/airline.
